When iHome reached out to me for ideas on a microsite, I knew they wanted something special. In our initial scope meeting, they brought out a prototype of the iP1. I couldn't believe the sound that came from such a relatively small unit. It had a radical design and explosive sound. I was floored. My goal was to translate the experience I had as best I could in a flat two dimensional screen and possibly terrible laptop speakers.
This site turned out to be one of my most ambitious explorations into the world of real time 3D, audio processing, and flash programming. I used Modo 302 to model and texture the iP1 and then PaperVision 3D to render and manipulate the model inside of Flash. Combined ActionScript 3, AfterEffects, and Photoshop the whole project came together better than I could have ever imagined.
This promo site was launched in July 09 and was live for over one and a half years.
